He has been strong in academics right from his school days. A gold medallist in Senior Secondary Certificate exam from his school and an outstanding student from Ramnivas Ramnarain Ruia college for Higher Secondary Certificate exam, he completed his graduation (MBBS) from prestigious Topiwala National Medical College in Mumbai. He completed his post-graduation (MS) from Bharati Hospital in Sangli, where he again stood as gold medallist in the University.
He then completed his surgical training for phacoemulsification under well known surgeon and teacher Dr.Anil Kulkarni from Miraj, Maharashtra.
Currently he is attached with prestigious Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital (AJEH) in Mumbai as an Anterior Segment Consultant and Surgeon. He is also the chief surgical trainer for national and international candidates at AJEH.
He has a keen interest in the field of study & research with multiple studies undergoing at present.
Performed around 1200 SICS and 450 Phacoemulsification surgeries till date, alongwith Glaucoma surgeries, Secondary IOLs.

Dr. Akshay Nair

He received his medical degree from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences in 2007. He then completed his residency training in Ophthalmology from Sankara Nethralaya in Chennai, India. Dr. Akshay Nair underwent two fellowship training programs in Oculoplastic Surgery, Ocular Oncology and facial aesthetics at L V Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad and New York Eye & Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai, USA.
He serves as a reviewer for over 20 journals and has over 70 peer-reviewed publications in PubMed indexed journals; 10 book chapters and has over 100 presentations at various scientific meets and forums.
His areas of special interest are ocular surface and eyelid tumours, ocular trauma, ophthalmic imaging and oculofacial aesthetics including dermal fillers and botulinum toxin.
Dr. Amit B. Jain
Vitreo-Retinal Surgeon

He is Vitreo-Retinal Consultant and Surgeon at SS Eye Clinic. He completed his post graduation in Ophthalmology from the prestigious Dr. Rajendra Prasad Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences, AIIMS, New Delhi. He underwent long term clinical fellowship in Vitreoretina at the renowned Sankara Netralaya, Chennai and Kolkata. He later joined Shri Ganapati Netralaya, Jalna, a tertiary eye hospital in Maharashtra as an Associate Consultant in the department of Vitreoretina and Uvea services.
He is an expert in the latest vitreo-retinal surgical techniques. His key interests include ocular trauma, non drainage scleral buckling, complex diabetic vitrectomies, macular hole surgeries, vitrectomy for retinal detachment etc.
He is also an expert in management of medical retinal disorders and Uveitis and his special interest includes ARMD, Diabetic Retinopathy, Vascular occlusions, CNVM, Polypoidal Choroidal vasculopathy, VKH and other inflammatory eye diseases etc. His primary interest being Retina, he is extremely skilled in managing Endophthalmitis and Retinopathy of Prematurity.
He has published various papers in national and international peer-reviewed journals and has presented many scientific papers, posters at various national ophthalmology conferences.
